Why are Review Sites Not Linked to My Top Rated Local® Listing?

Do you notice that one of your business' review sites - such as Facebook, Yelp, or YellowPages - is not linked to your Top Rated Local® profile? There could be a couple of reasons why they are not linked. More information about Top Rated Local's supported sources.

Troubleshooting Google My Business listings

Google My Business Not Appearing

If your Google My Business listing is not syncing with your Top Rated Local profile, then you will want to log in to your Marketing 360® account, and then navigate to your Location Settings dashboard to add your Google My Business listing.

If you have not yet created a Marketing 360® account to claim your Top Rated Local location, then you can click here to create your Marketing 360® account.

Google My Business Reviews Not Updating

If your Top Rated Local profile shows Google My Business reviews but the review count is not accurate or not updating, then you will want to navigate to your Location Settings dashboard to add your Google My Business listing. Once you have synced your Google My Business listing, then your new reviews will populate and your Rating Score will update.

If you have not synced your Google My Business listing through the Locations dashboard, then it will display existing reviews but not update for new reviews.

Troubleshooting all other listings

If you notice that your other third-party reviews are not syncing with Top Rated Local, then it may be due to one of the reasons below.

1. The Review Site does not have any reviews on it

Top Rated Local® crawls the web for third-party sites that contain reviews for your business. A listing needs to have reviews before it can sync with Top Rated Local®. If you have a profile on a third-party review site but do not yet have any reviews, we recommend asking your customers to leave feedback on those sites so that Top Rated Local® can pick them up and factor them into your Rating Score.

2. The Review Site does not display a star rating in the search engine results pages (SERPs)

When Top Rated Local® crawl the web for your business' reviews, the algorithm looks for search listings that contain a star rating displayed in the search results. See below for an example.

If your listing on a review site does not include a star rating in the search engine results pages (SERPs), then it will not be eligible to sync with Top Rated Local®.

This is becoming increasingly common with Facebook, as they have moved away from the "star ratings" and replaced it with a "recommended/not recommended" rating system. This updated review system has not yet been applied to all Facebook Business profiles, so some users may be able to still sync their Facebook reviews.

3. Your Business Name or other details do not match

You will want to double-check that your business information - such as the Business Name, Address, and Phone Number - are consistent on both your Top Rated Local® profile as well as the listing you want to sync.

For example, if your business is listed in Top Rated Local® as "Bills Billiards" but listed on Yelp as "Bill's Billiard and Bar", then the listing may not sync. Regardless, it is important that ALL of your third-party listings have consistent information because having inconsistent business information on the internet can harm your business' quality score in the eyes of search engines.

What to do if none of the above criteria applies:

If you have double-checked the three steps above, but your listing is still not syncing with Top Rated Local®, then you can reach out to our Support Team by emailing support@marketing360.com. Fill out as much information as possible, and provide links to the third-party listings in question that you are trying to link.
