Depending on how you collect user data on your website, you may need to set up a Privacy Policy page or Terms of Service page. Typically, these pages are not visible in your site's main navigation, but are linked to in your website's Footer. This allows the page(s) to be reachable at the bottom of every page on your website.
You are solely responsible for all legal obligations related to your website including your website's terms of service or privacy policy. Marketing 360® is unable to provide the verbiage to use on these pages. We recommend consulting an attorney or legal expert for assistance with the wording of your policies on these pages.
To build the page and add the link(s) to your website's Footer, there are three main steps:
- Create the new page
- Remove the page from your site's navigation
- Add links to your footer that link to the page
Create the new page
To add a new page:
- Select the Pages tab at the top of the Websites app.
- Click the + Add A Page button at the top of the page.
- Check the box next to Generic, then click Add to confirm the selection.
- A new page titled "Generic" will appear at the bottom of the page. Click on it to begin editing the page. You will change the Page Title, and add a Text block to add your page's content.
Remove the page from your site's navigation
On the right-hand side of the page, under Settings, turn off the blue button labeled Show In Navigation. This will remove the page from your website's top navigation bar.

Add links to your footer that link to the page
Next, you will add a hyperlink to your website's Footer that link to the page.
To access your Footer:
- Select the Pages tab at the top of your Websites app.
- On the right-hand sidebar, under Global Content, click on Footer.

Then, you will add a Text block.
- Click the (+) button located below each existing content block.
- The menu will expand to show all content blocks available on the footer. Select Text.
- A Text block will appear. In the Description field, type the text you'd like to turn into a hyperlink, then highlight it., Select the "Insert Link" icon above the description field (see image below for reference).
- Click on the empty text box that appears. Select the page from the dropdown menu. Tip: you can use the empty text box as a search bar to find the page quickly.
- Then, click the Add button and wait for the blue check mark to appear, signifying that the change has been saved.
If you are adding multiple pages, you can add the hyperlinks to the same text block. Many websites separate the page links with a vertical bar (|), as seen in the example below.

After you've added the link(s) to your Footer, you will want to double-check your Footer's formatting. Learn more about how to re-arrange the items in your website's Footer.
