Create a Landing Page or Thank You Page

Create a Landing Page or Thank You Page

If you are running an ad campaign, you may wish to create a "landing page" to track the success of the campaign, or to use as a "thank you page" for someone to land on after filling out a form. A landing page has its own unique URL, and is only accessible to users who visited from an external source (such as from an email campaign or a pay-per-click ad); thus, it is not findable from other pages on your website or through search engines.

You can build a landing page on Websites 360® just like any other page. However, you will have to change a few settings to make it work properly, which we will walk through below.

  • Build your landing page
  • Link to your landing page

Build your landing page

  1. Select the Pages tab at the top of the Websites app.
  2. Click the + Add A Page button at the top of the page.

  3. Check the box labeled Generic and click Add to create a new page.
  4. A new page titled "Generic" will appear at the bottom of the Pages view. Click on the page title to open it.
  5. Change the Page title from "Generic" to something unique. This will determine the page's URL. For example, if you name the page "Landing Page", then the page's URL will be mywebsite.com/landing-page
  6. On the right-hand side of the page, under Settings, click the toggle buttons next to Show in navigation and Show global sidebar. The buttons will turn gray to signify that they are turned off, thus making the page inaccessible from elsewhere on your website.

  7. On the right-hand side of the page, click on SEO & Sharing to expand the section. Click the  toggle buttons next to Allow search engines to index page and Allow search engines to follow links. The buttons will turn gray to signify that they are turned off, thus making the page inaccessible from search engines.

  8. Edit the page content or add content blocks to build your landing page as you see fit.
  9. Once finished editing the page, click Publish at the top of your dashboard.

Link to your landing page

To link to this landing page, you will take note of the page title to determine the URL (see step 4 above). The page's URL will be your website name, followed by your page title, with each word separated by hyphens (-).

For example, if the name of your page is "Landing Page", then your URL will be mywebsite.com/landing-page
