Add or Edit a Hyperlink in Text
You can insert a hyperlink within your text blocks to allow your viewers to navigate to your site's other pages or to external websites.
Add or edit a hyperlink
- Select the Pages tab at the top of your Websites app, and open the page where you'd like to add a button.
- Navigate to the content block where you would like to add a hyperlink.
- In the Description field, highlight the text you'd like to turn into a hyperlink (or enter new text), and then select the "Insert Link" icon above the description field (see image below for reference).
- Click on the empty text box that appears. You can paste in a URL for an external link, or you can use the drop-down menu to select another page on your website.
Optional: Click the Open in a new window icon if you'd like the button to open a new window in the visitor's browser. If the icon is blue, then the link is set to open in a new window.
- Then, click the Add button and wait for the blue check mark to appear, signifying that the change has been saved.
The hyperlinked text will appear blue and underlined. To edit the link destination, highlight the hyperlink, and repeat steps 4-5 above to change the link.
Remove a hyperlink
To delete a link:
- Highlight the hyperlinked text.
- Select the crossed out link icon to remove the hyperlink from the text.
